Building Conservation Accreditation Update

I posted back in July about my application for Building Conservation Accreditation (BCAS) with the RICS and I am pleased to confirm back in September following the submission and the peer interview I was successful on my first attempt. The update has been hard coming as sorting the paperwork out with the RICS has bee hard going and they have still not added me to the register but I have an email confirming my successful application.

So what does this mean for you and Home Heroes Limited

I am now eligible to undertake fabric surveys on churches, be a lead professional on a grant-funded job i.e from Historic England or War Memorials. It also means you can be confident I have been assessed by The RICS to have the theoretical knowledge / Practical experience and in additional a group of BCAS surveyors interviewed me and where happy that I was a safe pair of hands for Historic Building Conservation / Heritage Consultancy.

How do you know someone is BCAS Accredited

Well as well as being listed on is my surveyor qualified and they will also be listed on the Building Conservation Accreditation list which can be viewed here and this allows them to use the BCAS Logo which is only to be used by the 250 or so RICS Building Conservation Accredited Professionals

We have offered our heritage consultancy since inception and its one of our most popular services as well as our heritage / listed building residential surveys and we will continue to offer these but this will allow us to move into more consultancy items and more theoretical work such as conservation management plans and impact statements.
