So which survey should I have?

Below you can find a useful guide which details some of the essential features of the RICS Surveys. So,  helping you to identify which report you require. Level 1 Survey – Formally Known as RICS Conditon Report

  • Properties currently in good condition
  • Homes made from conventional materials, built in the last 30 years
  • Buildings without significant alterations, which you do not intend to significantly modify

Level 2 Survey – Formally Know as RICS HomeBuyer Report

  • Properties that appear in reasonable condition
  • Conventional homes built in the last 100 years, Buildings without significant alteration, which you do not intend to significantly alter

Level 3 Survey – Formally Known as RICS Building Surveys / Full Structural

  • Properties over 50 years old
  • Listed Buildings and historic buildings
  • Buildings of any age that are constructed in an unusual way
  • Properties that have been substantially altered or extended
  • Buildings that are proposed to undergo alteration or refurbishment

Level 3 – Heritage

  • Properties over 50 years old
  • Listed Buildings and historic buildings
  • Buildings of any age that are constructed in an unusual way
  • Properties that have been substantially altered or extended
  • Buildings that are proposed to undergo alteration or refurbishment

All Surveys can include anything by agreement including liaising with other professionals and high camera surveys but these fall outside of the normal scope of surveys
